Artist Statement- Aperture
For this project, I experimented with aperture. Aperture is the opening in the lens that allows light to pass through. The larger the aperture, the more light that gets through. It affects a photograph by changing the way the photo is focused. The first photo is mainly focused on the leaf. It draws attention to it and shows that the leaf is the main subject of the photo. The second photo I took shows more of the area around the leaf, and you can see more of the fence, the grass, and the other scattered leaves in the grass. The third photo shows a lot of the background behind the leaf. My favourite of the three is the first photo, because it focuses on the leaf and blurs out the background behind it.
